Mary attended Crown College and graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Her specialization is in Communication Arts and Literature, and she has a strong background in literacy. She is currently licensed by the State of Minnesota Department of Education.
Mary comes to NCS having taught fourth grade in the Spring Lake Park School District for 13 years. Prior to SLP, Mary taught struggling learners in the Anoka Hennepin School District. She has a commitment to three things: 1) maximizing individual student performance, 2) inspiring students’ interest in learning, and 3) instilling a sense of self-worth among all students. Teaching in a Christ-centered environment where she has opportunity to support learners both academically and spiritually is exciting to her!
Outside of school, Mary is a wife and a mother of three grown children. She especially enjoys spending time with her three young grandchildren. She is very involved in her church where she leads Bible study and small groups. Coffee and thrift store adventures with friends are her favorite past times.
